I got involved with running in middle school. A few years prior, my dad had been in an accident that injured his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Although it was difficult, he never let his injury get the best of him. He got involved in cycling and encouraged me to run with him as he biked. Long story short, I fell in love with running and ran cross country and track all through high school. With the busyness of college, I have not been able to run as frequently as I wish, but I still enjoy it. I won't lie to you, running is hard. It is physically painful and mentally challenging, and there are many days where I just don't feel like running. Despite all this, I love running because it makes me feel strong and confident. It is challenging, but it is worth it!
